I might have given Kelsey a bit of a hard time, but that doesn't mean I wasn't put off by things other contestants did on the third episode of The Next Food Network Star. There are only so many hours in the day, though:-)

I found the moment when Adam Gertler decided to sing an impromptu harmonica ditty to Martha Stewart particularly painful.

Notice how Martha doesn't even respond to Adam's request to sing to her. After he gets down on his knees, literally, and basically begs not to be forgotten, Martha only says, "Who woulda guessed?"

Such an unweighted, zero opinion statement that is. I love it! That just goes to show you Martha ain't gonna say she likes something she doesn't. And if she doesn't outright tell you you suck, she'll say something like "Who woulda guessed" or "That definitely was something that just happened."

Martha should be a real judge on the show. She'd put Simon Cowell to shame.

(Truth be told, Martha did say later to the judges that she "loved" Adam's performing, but I think she was just being nice.)
